STARS Project Study Visit and 3rd TPM in Athens

Partners of the STARS Project gathered in Athens from 5–9 May 2025 for a study visit and the 3rd Transnational Project Meeting (TPM), hosted by AKMI International, in collaboration with national partners. The meeting brought together project partners to review progress, strengthen collaboration, and explore best practices in sports education, vocational training, and innovation in the sports sector.

Study visits and exchanges with sports institutions

During the visit, partners participated in several study visits to leading sports education and institutional facilities. These included the AKMI Campus in Athens, where participants explored the Sport School programmes, gym facilities, and physiotherapy laboratories, and the Metropolitan College campus in Marousi, where discussions focused on teaching approaches and learning pathways in sport sciences education.

The programme also included visits to major sports organisations such as the Hellenic Volleyball Federation at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens, where partners learned about national sports development initiatives. A presentation from the Hellenic Paralympic Committee highlighted efforts to promote inclusive sport and athlete development.

Meetings, workshops, and hands-on activities

In addition to study visits, partners held the 3rd Transnational Project Meeting, where they reviewed the project’s status, progress of the Training Needs Analysis (TNA), and updates on the STARS Building Blocks.

The agenda also featured interactive workshops and guest presentations addressing topics such as design thinking for upcoming STARS workshops, European education projects, research methods, and strategies to combat violence in sport. The programme concluded with a visit to the Olympiakos beach volleyball facilities in Piraeus, where partners experienced a practical sports activity and networking session.

This study visit provided an important opportunity for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and engagement with the Greek sports and education ecosystem, contributing to the STARS Project’s mission of shaping talents and achieving vocational excellence in sports across Europe.
