Partners of the STARS Project gathered in Leipzig from 22–26 September 2025 for a study visit and the 4th Transnational Project Meeting (TPM). The meeting was hosted by Leipzig University at the Faculty of Sport Science, Leipzig University, bringing together partners to review project progress, exchange expertise, and strengthen collaboration within the European sport and vocational education ecosystem.
Welcome Session and Campus Tour
The programme began with a welcome session and campus tour, where participants were introduced to the structure, departments, and research profile of the Faculty of Sport Science. This visit provided partners with valuable insights into the university’s role in sports education, research, and cooperation with sports organisations and institutions.
Throughout the week, project partners held the 4th Transnational Project Meeting, focusing on key developments across several work packages (WP1, WP2, WP3, and WP5). Discussions addressed project implementation, upcoming activities, and the progress of the STARS Building Blocks, which form the core framework for strengthening vocational excellence and skills development in the sports sector.
Expert-Led Workshops and Panel Discussions
The agenda also included expert-led workshops and panel discussions, covering important topics such as partnerships in sports between universities, federations, and clubs, monitoring and quality assurance in the vocational education and training (VET) sector, and digital innovation in sports education. These sessions provided an opportunity for partners to exchange knowledge and share best practices from their respective countries and institutions.
The workshops and discussions were delivered by representatives from partner institutions and organizations, including BR Düsseldorf, the DiÄS team, and the University of Lille (UL), along with experts from universities, sports federations, and sports clubs. Their contributions provided valuable insights into vocational education opportunities, collaborative partnerships in sports, and emerging digital approaches in sports education.
International Coaching Course Study Visit
A dedicated study visits to the International Coaching Course ITK participants insight into internationally recognised training programmes for sports coaches, highlighting innovative approaches to coaching education and international cooperation in sports development.
The study visits and transnational meeting provided an important platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic planning, reinforcing the STARS Project’s mission to support innovation, strengthen vocational excellence, and develop sustainable skills ecosystems in the European sports sector.
